First Question to be Asked on the Day of Judgement

Praise be to Allaah (Lord of the universe) Almighty Allaah (The most high) says: "And establish regular prayer for verily, prayer restrains [the worshipper] from shameful and unjust deeds." (Al-Qur'an 29 :45).

"Enjoin prayer on your people and be constant therein. We ask you not to provide sustenance, We provide it for you". (Al-Qur'an 20 : 132).

"Remember) the Day when the Shin shall be laid bare (i.e. on the Day of Resurrection) and they shall be called to prostrate (to Allaah), but they (hypocrites) shall not be able to do so. Their eyes will be cast down, ignominy will cover them; they used to be called to prostrate (offer prayers), while they were healthy and good (in the life of the world, but they did not)" [Al-Quran 68 :42-43].

On that Day, the people of paradise will ask those who have entered Hell-fire, why they have entered it. And the Qur’an tells us exactly what their first response will be: ”What led you into Hell Fire? They will say: ‘We were not of those who prayed.’” [Al-Quran 74:: 42-43].

Hadiths of The Prophet (peace be upon him)

1. Narrated by Umar Ibn Khattab (may Allaah be pleased with him) that The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The first thing which will be judged among a man's deeds on the Day of Resurrection is the Prayer If this is in good order, then he will succeed and prosper, but if it is defective, then he will fail and lose" (Jami at-Tirmidhi).

2. Narrated by Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The first thing among their deeds for which the people will be brought to account on the Day of Resurrection will be prayer (solaat). Our Lord will say to His angels, although He knows best, ‘Look at My slave’s prayer, is it complete or lacking?’ If it is complete, it will be recorded as complete, but if it is lacking, He will say, ‘Look and see whether my slave did any voluntary (naafil) prayers.’ If he had done voluntary prayers, He will say, ‘Complete the obligatory prayers of My slave from his voluntary prayers.’ Then the rest of his deeds will be examined in a similar manner.” (Sunan Abu Dawood)

All praise is due to Allah we ask Him to bless the Prophet Sallah Llah Alei Wasalam and the companions and let's die on the path of Qur'an and Sunnah.
