Dua for Guidance and Protection: Seeking Allah's Help and Guidance in Islam

 

Seeking Allah's help through supplication (dua) is a fundamental aspect of worship in Islam. رَبَّنَآ آتِنَا فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِى ٱلْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ

Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil-akhirati hasanatan waqina 'adhaban-nar

(Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire). Surah Al-Baqarah (2:201)

This dua encompasses a comprehensive request for goodness in this world and the Hereafter, as well as seeking protection from the punishment of the Fire. It reflects the believer's acknowledgment of their dependence on Allah for guidance, blessings, and protection in all aspects of life.

رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْوَهَّابُ

Rabbana la tuzigh quloobana ba'da idh hadaytana wa hab lana milladunka rahmah innaka antal Wahhab

(Our Lord, do not let our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower). Surah Al Imran (3:8)
